We founded our association!

Our Black Wood Environmental Biedriba association was founded in Riga, Latvia with the efforts of 8 young people studying at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences under the leadership of Ernests Naglis.

In 2018, we started our work as an informal group. We started research studies during our university years, we aimed to carry out many studies to ensure the sustainability of the future of society. During this time, we developed ourselves within the framework of the goal we set out and made university communities appeal to a wide audience. Afterwards, we continued our progress by expanding our working areas. As a result, we decided to establish our association in order to formalize our unofficial activities and to expand and formalize our fields of activity and activities.

Among the founders and members of our association are many academicians, food engineers, environmental engineers, dieticians, educators, artists, project experts and students. In addition, our volunteers, who support us voluntarily and enrich our association, accompany us on our journey to achieve our goals. We continue on our way as an association that addresses all individuals and all professional groups living in the world.

Our main goal is to make our world more livable by minimizing the effects of climate change, the consequences of which we feel intensely in the century we live in. In this direction, in all its activities, it aims to protect the welfare of the society, the right to life of future generations and the ecosystem by protecting all living things, and to ensure that food and non-food agricultural products that come to our table are available, accessible, healthy and reliable; The general purpose of the association is to make a fair perspective that takes into account the climate crisis, is long-term, needs-oriented, prioritizes localism and self-sufficiency, and is far from archaic knowledge and practices. In addition, one of our main objectives is to promote learning that transforms individual behaviors, lifestyles and social practices into sustainable practices through sustainability practices.
