The second day of the Every Bite of Food Matters project (Project No: 2023-1-LV02-KA152-YOU-000114359) focused on increasing participants' understanding of one of today's most pressing global challenges—food waste. Coordinated by Black Wood Environmental Biedrība, the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange continued in Riga, Latvia.

The day began with the "Food Waste Information" session, where participants explored global statistics, environmental impacts, and the economic losses caused by food waste. Interactive discussions highlighted how wasted food contributes to greenhouse gas emissions, climate change, and the inefficient use of natural resources.

Later, during "Steps to Save Food", participants worked together to identify practical ways individuals, families, and communities can reduce food waste in everyday life. The "Examining Good Examples" workshop introduced successful initiatives from different countries, encouraging participants to exchange ideas and adapt innovative solutions for their own local communities.

The day's evaluation emphasized that informed young people can become powerful ambassadors for sustainable lifestyles and play a significant role in preventing food waste through education and community action.
